Waiting for the Special Report

The Report from the Special Investigation Committee is due out in the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see what were all the issues, abuses, and who was actually found to be at fault. My view at this point would be that no one directly will be fingered out, but rather a series of bad practices and a decision to invest in a strategy that did not pay off will be found to be the major issues.

The question is whether this will satisfy the parishes and whether the Metropolitan decides to remain or resign. The financial feasibility will continue to be a major issue and some of the ideas suggested to liquidate some of the OCA's property in order to cut down expenses and to not appoint any new Bishops for five years to sort of clear out and reassess how to best structure the OCA's hierarchy makes good sense. Then return more of the administrative tasks of the OCA back to each of the dioceses bishops and make things more local also would go along way in reestablishing credibility.
